For the purpose of this profile “The Donovan” actually refers to three communities; The Flour Mill, The Donovan, and the newly-minted Uptown. 

Located in the centre of Sudbury, this colourful community is home to beautiful parks, playgrounds, schools, and the unique local businesses that live on Kathleen Street. Just a short walk to the Downtown Core and with ample bus service throughout the community, residents of the Donovan need not rely on a vehicle to get around. 

Over the past few years, there has been a large shift in culture in the Donovan, specifically toward the west end of Kathleen St, in an area many are now calling “Uptown” with residents seeking unique older character homes, but without the prices of The Hospital Area. This gentrification of Uptown has given rise to a large influx of urban-lifestyle seekers, and kitschy local businesses (like the amazing Tuco’s Taco Lounge, Flurples, and Beards Coffee Bar & Bakery). More toward the historic Flour Mill side, residents will be able to enjoy access to everything Notre Dame Ave. has to offer including shops, restaurants, and bike paths. 

From a real estate standpoint, the Donovan boasts some incredible early 1900s character homes, but its bread and butter lies in its smaller affordable homes, and abundant amount of multi-family properties.
